Vail Brewing Company
October 17, 2016

We here at Boone’s are so excited to bring another local brewery into our tasting room and shelves. The Vail Valley’s own Vail Brewing Company came down to our tasting room on Friday, October 14th, 2016. These guys just recently started bottling their brews, and it would so utterly wrong not to have them in our store.

We tasted the Gourd Range Pumpkin Ale, Gore Creek IPA, Hot Mess Blonde, and their stout, Brother from another Udder. So we thought we’d share our thoughts!

• The Gourd Range, their pumpkin ale, is an Oktoberfest base with pumpkin flavor that is not too sweet, just right. The spice blend is right from Colorado and very tasty. This beer got a resounding two thumbs up in the tasting room on Friday night.
• The Gore Creek IPA, the company’s “flagship,” knocked our socks off. This IPA is for everyone. Not an IPA fan?? This is definitely one to try – very smooth, not too much bite. If you are an IPA fan, don’t worry – this flavor is great; and if you want something more, they have a double IPA on tap that will be just for you.
• The Hot Mess Blonde is said to be a favorite on the taproom floor. And we can see why. Great flavor and another smooth finish. Plus, a great name that you can be sure to see some marketing on soon!
• And last, but definitely not least, the stout. The Brother from another Udder has oats, chocolate malt, coffee malt, and honey malt. It’s also infused with cacao nibs and vanilla beans. This is one delicious beer. Oh and just like the others, it’s smooth and easy to drink. (Notice a theme?)

The Vail Brewing Company’s beers make it obvious that while they may be the new guy on the block here in the Vail Valley, their brew masters have plenty of experience they are bringing here for our enjoyment. And we’re glad that they are finally sharing it with us all here in the Vail Valley!

The Vail Brewing Company’s main taproom is located in Eagle-Vail, Colorado. But they recently opened a second location, right in the heart of Vail Village in the Solaris. Vail Brewing Co. just won the Best Wheat/Belgian award at the Crested Butte Chili and Beer Fest with their Life’s a Peach Belgian Wit. They’ve also been featured on the Business Insider’s website as one of the top 10 breweries in American ski towns.

If you haven’t made it to visit them at one of their taprooms yet, be sure to schedule a visit. Or come by the store and buy one of their bombers to give it a try. We currently stock the Gore Creek IPA (India Pale Ale) and Gourd Range Pumpkin Ale. They bottle their ‘Merica APA (American Pale Ale) as well, but our shelves are not-so-patiently awaiting its arrival (as of October 17, 2016). As soon more flavors are available, we’ll be sure to grab them up – and we’re told this should be soon!
